Despite having a significant and expanding Gaming Market, large number of players across many platforms, good e-sports and much more, Australian Government decides to grow the Gaming Industry across Australia even more, they also provided some good services to these Industries to make their progress more easier. These Gaming Industries got high investments, support, growth and some future plans as well. Here are the some individuals and groups that invested on Gaming and helped to improve it in recent days:-


1) John De Margheriti:

He is often  called a founding father” of Australia’s game industry because he founded BigWorld, Micro Forté, the Australian Game Developers Conference and so on. He has invested over $5.4 million and has given some business support to innovative technology start-ups through its incubator program.


2) Big Ant Studios / Ross Symons:

Big Ant Studios is an Australian Video Game Developer which was founded in 2001 by Ross Symons, This studio has already acquired Big Ant for €35 million in January 2021, and now the studio has recently expanded from around 50 employees to 147 with the help of "Digital Games Tax Offset" (DGTO) incentive. As they specialize in games like Cricket 24, AFL 23, and Tiebreak, they offered features like - customisation options such as clothing, stadium, and logo creators. They have also gave cross-platform player downloads, and the "PLAYFACE™" feature where players can now import their own faces into the game too.


3) Gameloft Brisbane / IGEA:

Gameloft’s Brisbane studio has literally grew from 55 employees two years ago to 217 today and also they notably produced a revival of "Carmen Sandiego". They have also provided high-profile game project and streamlined funding access. IGEA's "Game On Australia" initiative has actively helped developers access grants and tax benefits.


4) Digital Games Tax Offset (DGTO):

This is an government tax incentive that has aim to strengthen Australia’s gaming industry, it offers a 30% refundable tax offset on Qualifying Australian Development Expenditure (QADE), which includes various costs such as -  design, programming, artwork, animation, audio and much more. Recently, they doubled the employment in "Game development" companies, jobs increased from around 1,300 to 2,465 in just a couple of years and Gaming Industry income raised from AUD $183 million to $339.1 million (which is approximately $212 million USD) in the year 2024.


Due to these Supports and Investments by many people and Government, The Australia is now continuously developing and soon starts implementing new things, making new games or competition in whole world.
