Marvel has officially delayed both movies, "Avengers Doomsday" has been shifted from May 1, 2026 to December 18, 2026 and "Avengers: Secret Wars" has been shifted from May 7, 2027 to December 17, 2027. Both movies are been delayed by seven more months and due to this delay, "Disney" has now rescheduled many other “Untitled Marvel” projects. So, that means “Avengers: Doomsday” and Sony's "Spider-Man: Brand New Day” are now the only MCU Movies that arrives at theaters in 2026. And now, the fourth Tom Holland "Spider-Man” movie will release before "Avengers Doomsday".
Why this Delay happened?
Marvel has still not completely disclosed the detailed reasons but several insights have been confirmed through interviews of this Delay.
Time Consumption:
This is the main reason because "Avengers Doomsday" & "Secret Wars" are two biggest films ever made, so it simply requires more time for Scripting and Shooting and also need more time to work on VFX and other things.
Other Movies that are Delayed by Marvel:-
1. Fantastic Four: First Steps is now rescheduled from May 2, 2025, to July 25, 2025.
2. Blade was been postponed from September 6, 2024, to November 7, 2025.
Benefits due to this delay:-
With additional time, Marvel can improve scripts and storyline and improve the quality for these upcoming movies.
Losses due to this delay:-
Fans might start to lose interest as these movies are postponed seven more months ahead. Fans may lose excitement waiting until 2027 to watch all these movies.
