As many of us know that on October 14, 2025 which is today, Microsoft will officially end standard support for Windows 10 that clearly means no more security updates, feature upgrades, or technical assistance for most users who are using Windows 10. While the PC may continue to work, but it becomes increasingly vulnerable as the new security flaws will go unpatched, making it an easier target for malware and exploits as well. Moreover, the game developers and GPU/driver makers will soon gradually drop support for Windows 10 — so the people who still use Windows 10 today may face compatibility issues, performance drops, or even crashes with newer PC Games.
But still, Microsoft decided to offer a paid Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for one additional year for most of the users (which means until October 13, 2026), and longer for enterprises. In some regions (like the 'European Economic Area'), that extension might be free under certain conditions. Meanwhile your options? Well, you have tons of them: You can upgrade to Windows 11 (if your hardware qualifies for it), Enroll in ESU (if you are eligible), or Consider alternative systems (like Linux, etc.).

As of October 14, 2025, Windows 10 passes into its legacy stage: it will no longer receive the updates, patches, or support that kept it secure and modern and after this, your PC may “still run,” but the status is fragile. For gamers, that’s especially concerning as the game developers increasingly target newer OS versions and roll out patches with Windows 11 in mind. Regardless of the route, we have to make sure to backup our data, protect the game saves/settings, and stay informed about which apps and titles are phasing out Windows 10 support.
